Looters...

Ok, before I begin, an editorial note. This is NOT a black/white / mocha / burgundy issue. It's a people and perception issue. I'm adopting an african american boy, so you that would like to think this is rooted in bigotry, well...you're ignert! :)

When Katrina hit, all we saw on the news was the looters, those we perceived and foolish to stay, and hour after hour after hour of devistation. However, when the tornado hit Greensburg, KS. There were no looters. Just as much damage per sq ft, but no looters. Again, the flooding in Iowa...no looters, just water.

Now living in Missouri, we have plenty of jokes for people from Kansas and Iowa, however, I'm frankly shocked that we've yet to see people floating 50" TV's down mainstreet on an inflatable air mattress.

What REALLY drives people to loot...poverty ? Survival ? Or could it be a perceived right to entitlement because the 'man gets you down'?
